Clinics

Consultations

The first consultation lasts 1 hour during which I take a full medical history to help me understand your state of health. You will be asked about current and previous health problems, including details of any medicines and supplements you are taking. With your permission, I will conduct any clinical examinations that may be necessary in order to give a more complete picture of the problem and your state of health. These examinations are similar to those conducted by your GP.

Together, as patient and herbalist, we will decide on your priority health issues and agree between us how to set about tackling areas of concern. I may recommend some dietary changes. These tend to be simple additions or reductions of things in your diet and are rarely drastic. Positive, gentle and sustainable changes tend to be better than drastic, short-term dietary measures.

You will also be asked about your general lifestyle and whether you are going through any particular stresses. Many daily activities can cause stress on the body that can have a significant impact on your health. Together we will look at those factors that contribute to your illness and look to introduce patterns that will promote natural healing. In most cases minor changes make a big difference.A diagnosis will be made, both in terms of the name of the disorder, and also in respect to what is perceived to be the underlying cause in holistic terms. Education plays a key role, and one of the goals of the treatment is to remove barriers and help you to understand what is causing the illness, empowering you to regain control of your health.
